What the results are
NameHound shows what public registries and platforms reported at the moment you searched. Results can be wrong or out of date, and a platform can refuse a name that looked free. Nothing on this site is legal advice. The Brand Name Score is a checklist, not a judgment that a name is free to use or to register as a trademark. Before you file a trademark or invest in a brand, talk to a trademark attorney.
Fair use of the checker
- The checker is for people checking names they're considering. Don't send automated or bulk queries to our API, and don't use it to monitor or collect data about other people's accounts.
- We limit how many checks one visitor can run per minute so we stay within each platform's limits.
- The click-to-check links open other companies' sites. Their terms apply there.
No warranty
The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for decisions made from its results, including choosing, registering or giving up a name.

We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.
